in swept sea flows to me throws a thousand waves into my ear let's form a parade would you be afraid with bands and floats and queens and lots of clowns the plagues will lead us down the main street dressed in banners balloons candy sweet whistles sirens and horns the boy scouts in green drum and bugle teams the legion and the passing present important teams all leave the big parade down the street crowd attending lonely lonely eyes smile through rubber disguise the cannons and guns all add to the fun the mayor and local young tv stars wave from the shiny cars at the end sad notation men in white with rakes clean up the big parade wind swept streets show to me just the thousand programs left to lay that's what I'm trying to say
